Why PTC University?

Advocacy • Insights • Industry Connectivity • Community

We examine the importance of advocating for waterways, land access, and safe and inclusive paddling; protecting and advancing the Paddlesports' Industry interest.
We provide industry intelligence — timely data, trends, and collaborative discussions to help you make smarter business decisions.
We create community and connectivity — live presentations, round-tables, peer networks, and activities where you share best practices, challenges and opportunities.
We examine important ways to drive participation and inclusivity — growing the sport by removing barriers, expanding access, and connecting more people to paddlesports stakeholders.

DATA, DATA, DATA continues!

Latest US Coast Guard Boating Census and its importance to the Paddlesports Community

The National Recreational Boating Safety Survey (NRBSS) is the nation's leading source of information on recreational paddlecraft participation and activity. The survey provides critical insights into paddlecraft ownership and usage patterns across the United States. This session will provide an overview of the 2026 survey currently underway and highlight the data, findings, and insights the paddle community can expect from the latest wave of research.

Presented by Lindsey Witt-Swanson, senior research director at the National Opinion Research Center’s Public Affairs & Media Research department, and project manager for the National Recreational Boating Safety Survey, a five-year project with the United States Coast Guard aimed at measuring recreational boating aspects at the national and state levels.
